Technical energization for 500kV Quang Trach – Doc Soi transmission line and 500kV Quang Trach switchyard

At 19:19, on May 31, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT)/Central Vietnam Power Projects Management Board (CPMB) coordinated with relevant units to perform technical energization for 500kV transmission line, circuit 3, the Quang Trach – Doc Soi section and 500kV Quang Trach switchyard.

The consortium of Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 1 (PECC1), Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 4 (PECC4), and the Institute of Energy have won the package "Consultancy services for investigation for the preparation of Technical Design-Construction Drawing Design; preparation of Technical Design – Total Estimate and Construction Drawing Design and a total estimate of the bidding package, Preparation of bidding documents/Request for Proposal; Mapping and extracting maps for land clearance work". Specifically, PECC1 performs investigation tasks to serve the preparation of Technical Design, Construction Drawing Design, cadastral measurements for preparation of compensation and land clearance documents, undertakes the line section through Quang Tri province; Preparation of Technical Design-Total Estimate, Construction Drawing Design for the line section through Quang Tri province (G39-G54), about 83km long; Performance of environmental monitoring during the construction phase in accordance with the approved environmental impact assessment (EIA) report. PECC1 also undertakes the general design work for the project, including the design of a single-body suspension tower with a suspension angle of up to 25^o and a transpose tower.

The construction scale of the 500kV Quang Trach - Doc Soi transmission line is a double-circuit transmission line, over 500 km long; Construction of 03 optical repeaters along the line is to amplify and transfer information signals; Construction of 03 operating management houses serving for the power transmission team.

500kV Quang Trach switchyard

The construction scale of 500kV Quang Trach switchyard (Quang Binh province) consists of 10 500kV bays including 2 line bays to Vung Ang, 2 bays to Doc Soi, and 4 bays for main transformers of Quang Trach 1 & 2 TPPs and 2 spare bays.

The completion of the project:

Contributes to strengthen the transmission capacity of the 500kV power grid connecting regions of the national power system;
Contributes to ensure electricity supply for the South in the coming period;
Contributes to ensure electricity for Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Da Nang, and surrounding provinces;
Is enable to releasing renewable energy sources in the area.
