Quang Trach 1 TPP under the Quang Trach Power Center, invested by Vietnam Electricity (EVN), has a total installed capacity of 1200MW with 2 units, total investment of VND 41,130 billion with expected electricity output of about 8.4 billion kWh/an, contributing to ensuring national energy security, improving the safety and stability for the power system.
The project is invested with USC technology (Ultra super-critical) with the highest plant’s parameters in Vietnam today and will be furnished with advanced environmental protection equipment such as electrostatic precipitator system, which has its efficiency up to 99.75%, fully complying with current Vietnamese environmental standards and equivalent to the standards applied by the World Bank (WB), ensuring no adverse impacts on living environment surrounding the plant.

This is an important work in promoting socio-economic development of Quang Binh province in particular and the whole country in general, significantly contributing to increase annual budget revenue for Quang Binh province and the North Central Coastal region, thereby contributing to create favorable conditions for the locality to develop supporting industries, creating stable and long-term jobs for local workers, especially highly qualified workers.
Some key information of the Quang Trach I TPP:
- Investor: Vietnam Electricity (EVN);
- Generation of unit 1: 42 months from the effective date of the contract;
- Generation of unit 2: 48 months from the effective date of the contract;
- Expected completion date of the project: by 2025.
