The Employer of the Tanahu Hydropower Project - Nepal pays a working visit to PECC1

Recently, THL delegation - the Employer of the Tanahu Hydropower Project (140MW) - Nepal led by Mr. Pradeep Kumar Thike, member of the Board of Directors, had paid a valuable working visit to PECC1, Song Da Corporation and a number of hydropower projects in Vietnam. PECC1 has currently carried out the Engineering Consulting Services for items under Package No. 1 – Head Works for this important project. This visit is an opportunity for the two sides to further discuss the project schedule and technical solutions as well as promote cooperation and exchange experiences between the parties in the field of energy, especially hydropower sector.

At the meeting, the two parties had discussions on technical solutions, project schedule and project management. In addition, the parties also discussed challenges during the implementation of the Tanahu HPP. Furthermore, the parties also exchanged information about cooperation opportunities in the field of hydropower project consultancy services in general in Nepal. PECC1’s experts shared valuable experiences from projects implemented in Vietnam, particularly ski-jump dissipation system adopted in hydropower projects designed by PECC1 and listened to information shared from Nepali partners.

After the meeting, the Nepali delegation and PECC1 experts visited a number of hydropower projects in Vietnam. The delegation moved to Son La and Ban Chat HPPs, the highlighted projects designed by PECC1 in the Northwest region of Vietnam. Then, the delegation visited Song Bung 4 HPP, one of the largest hydropower projects in Central Vietnam, with an installed capacity of 156 MW. These projects are highly appreciated for their operational efficiency as well as state-of-the-art technology applied during construction and operation.

The visit of the Employer of the Tanahu HPP - Nepal is not only an opportunity for the two sides to learn and exchange experiences but also a chance to strengthen cooperation and mutual understanding in the field of hydropower. The representative of the Nepali delegation expressed his impression with the achievements that PECC1 has achieved and at the same time looked forward to future cooperation opportunities between the two sides.

At the end of the visit, the two parties agreed to continue to maintain close contact and cooperation, marking a new step in the cooperative relationship between PECC1 and the Employer of the Tanahu Hydropower Project - Nepal.
