Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between EVNPECC1 and CSGYNIC

On the morning of April 4th, 2024, at EVNPECC1’s headquarters, the Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony took place between Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 1 (EVNPECC1) and China Southern Power Grid Yunnan International Company Limited (CSGYNIC - under China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd.) on power cooperation enhancement.

Participating in the signing ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Huu Chinh - General Director of EVNPECC1 and Mr. Yang Yujian - Chairman of the Board of Directors of CSGYNIC and relevant leaders and officials of the two sides

During the period from 2004 to present, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and CSG have implemented power trading through 110kV and 220kV transmission lines along the border of the two countries, building a friendly relationship and creating good cooperation between the two countries. Accordingly, CSGYNIC was founded as a background for energy cooperation in the power sector with countries in the Mekong region, based on its strengths in technical management consulting in the power sector to build the power grid operation management mechanisms with high precision and experience in investment management of new energy projects. In Vietnam, EVNPECC1 is a leading company in the power engineering, with its strength in design consultancy services and possesses a team of talented personnel with extensive experience in key projects inside and outside Vietnam.

In order to promote the strengths of both sides, EVNPECC1 and CSGYNIC have agreed to expand the cooperation scale. Accordingly, based on the mutual respect, the principle of equal and mutually beneficial cooperation, in combination with the characteristics and development requirements of the power sector of the two countries, EVNPECC1 and CSGYNIC agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding toward the aim: complementing each other's strengths, based on the principles of mutual discussion, mutual construction, mutual sharing and mutual benefit, promoting cooperation and development.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, leaders of both sides shared their hope that this event will become a milestone and a premise for opening a new chapter in the long-term cooperation process between the two sides.

At the ceremony, the two parties discussed and agreed on a variety of important contents as well as established a regular communication channel with each other and do hope that this cooperation will improve efficiency for the parties in accordance with their strategic direction set out in the Memorandum of Understanding.
