Concreting of Tanahu hydropower project main dam - Nepal

At 4:00 p.m. on March 20, 2025 (Nepali time), the first block concreting of Tanahu Hydropower Project main dam was officially deployed at block 6, at EL.283m, marking an important milestone in the project construction process.

The concrete block is 1m high, with a total volume of 300m³. The concreting process was witnessed and closely supervised by representatives of the Owner - THL, the Owner's consultant - Tractebel Engineering GmbH, Song Da - Kalika General Contractor Joint Venture together with PECC1 Engineer Team.

As the Design Consultant for the project, PECC1 Engineers are always present at the site, closely coordinating with the Owner, Supervision Consultant and Contractors to ensure the progress and quality of construction. With a high sense of responsibility and solid expertise, PECC1 constantly strives to contribute to the project's timely completion, aiming to provide a stable and sustainable electric power source for Nepal. Tanahu Hydropower Project is one of the key projects in Nepal, with an installed capacity of 140 MW, playing an important role in meeting the country's energy needs.

The project is designed to meet the peak electricity demand in Nepal during the dry winter months and operate as a load plant during the rest of the year, while providing an alternative to expensive fossil fuel-based power generation through sustainable renewable energy thereby enhancing Nepal's power supply system.
