PECC1 leaders inspect the schedule of the Center of Nuclear Science and Technology Investigation Project

In the morning of October 3, 2024, leaders of Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 1 (PECC1) led by General Director Nguyen Huu Chinh made a field inspection at the Center of Nuclear Science and Technology Investigation project. Also participating in the inspection were Deputy General Director Nguyen Kim Cuong, Deputy General Director Do Viet Khoa and a delegation of the Company's staff.

PECC1 Leaders at the field inspection

This project is one of the important works, approved by Vietnamese Government in investment policy in 2018. The Center shall own a 10 MW nuclear reactor that using low-enriched fuel manufactured by Russia, to produce radioactive isotopes for medical and industrial purposes; irradiation of Neutron transmutation of silicon doping to produce semiconductors, etc. This is Vietnam's first project in the field of building large-capacity study nuclear reactors, marking an important step tforward development of the domestic nuclear technology industry.

As a subcontractor for the Project Manager who is the Russian State Specialized Design Institute (GSPI), PECC1 is responsible for carrying out all geological investigations, supporting in preparation of Feasibility Study Report and Site Planning dossier for the project with the following items:

- Topographic investigation;

- Engineering geological – geotechnical – hydrogeological – geophysical investigation;

- Seismic hazard assessment investigation;

- Hydro-meteorological investigation;

- Environment – environmental geological, soil, water, air investigations.

At the inspection, Mr. Do Viet Khoa - Deputy General Director of PECC1 cum Director of PECC1’s Investigation & Testing Center, said that the Center has mobilizing maximum its sources in terms of human resources, machinery and modern equipment. The engineers have worked day and night, seriously carrying out the investigation work, ensuring strict compliance with regulations, with the target of exceeding the set schedule while achieving the highest quality and efficiency. Up to now, the assigned workload has been completed by 25%.

On this occasion, General Director Nguyen Huu Chinh expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts and contributions of the engineer team at the construction site, and simultaneously sending words of encouragement to all of them and emphasizing the importance of ensuring absolute safety during the construction process. The General Director encouraged the engineers to maintain a spirit of working in harmony and good coordination to excellently complete the assigned tasks.

Company’s leaders present gifts to encourage engineers at the project

During the working session, General Director Nguyen Huu Chinh, on behalf of the Company, and Deputy General Director Nguyen Kim Cuong, representing the Union, presented gifts to encourage the team of engineers working directly at the site. This is a testament to the care, understanding and support of the leadership and the PECC1 Union to its staff. The gifts not only recognize the efforts to overcome difficulties but also serve as a great source of encouragement, encouraging engineers to continue to strive to excellently complete the targets of schedule, quality, occupational safety and environmental protection during the construction process.
