The rotor of unit 2 of Lai Chau Hydropower Plant was installed successfully
This is an important milestone in the project schedule to go forward to commissioning of equipment and component systems, meeting the target of operating unit 2 of Lai Chau Hydropower Plant by the end of June 2016.
Generator motor of unit 2 is weighing 1,000 metric ton, with diameter of 15,589 mm, height of 2,816 mm. Before rotor installation, contractors completed installation of turbine, stator, bridge crane, lifting equipment system, insulation experiment, etc.
Mr. Pham Hong Phuong, Director of Son La – Lai Chau Hydropower Project Management Board said that after successfully placing the generator rotor of unit 2, the PMB will together with their contractors review the whole time schedule, with the aim of closely controlling work items in order to arrange and allocate adequately and appropriately manpower to meet the target of putting unit 2 into operation by the end of June 2016, contributing a significant generation source to the national power system in dry season.
“This important milestone is achieved so that the target of putting the entire project into operation by the end of 2016 can be realized, that means one year earlier than the project schedule originally set up before” – said Mr. Pham Hong Phuong.
