Previously, PECC1 awarded the package No.4 (TV03-PT2 and TV03-PT3) on the Review Works on Technical Design, Construction Drawing Design, check and supervision of measuring process and counter-check calculation of plants’ efficiency measurement results after installation and after 1 operation year for Phuoc Thai 2 and Phuoc Thai 3 solar power projects. With the package No.11, the consulting and supervision scope of work of the consortium includes: items under project of 2 power plants; environmental and labour safety issues; and other supporing works for the Project Owner to ensure that the works are constructed in accordance with economic, technical, safety requirements and project schedule. Supervision consultancy work shall be carried out from the commencing time for investigation to serve for the Technical Design preparation, construction organization until the acceptance and finalization of the Project are completed.
Phuoc Thai 2 and Phuoc Thai 3 solar power plants were built with the goal of supplementing the proportion of renewable energy sources in the National Power System, contributing to meeting the Prime Minister's commitment at the 21st Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21) in November 2015, in line with Vietnam's Renewable Energy Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050. The projects adopted a system of monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic panels, direct grid connection, no storage, string inverters, with the installed capacity of Phuoc Thai 2 and Phuoc Thai 3 SPPs of 100MWp and 50MWp, respectively with a total investment of about 4,209 billion VND. Both plants are connected to the national power system via the Vinh Tan - Thap Cham 220kV transmission line.
According to the plan, the two projects are expected to be completed and generate power in the third quarter of 2022. Once completed, they will supplement an annual power output of over 247 million kWh to the national power system, contributing to the development of national clean energy sources. They contributes to the electricity supply to the national power system in general and Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces in particular to ensure energy security for the whole system, regional socio-economic development and the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.
