The delegation listened to reports on the operation of Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir
After the field inspection at Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir, dam and power units, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh affirmed: “EVN has a lot of experience to both ensure flood safety for downstream areas and economic efficiency. Thereby, the role of multi-purpose strategic hydropower plants on the Da River hydropower cascade has been promoted.
Facing complicated developments of natural disasters, the Deputy Prime Minister asked the ministries, agencies and People's Committee of Hoa Binh province to closely coordinate with EVN to ensure the absolute safety of the reservoir and dam, strictly follow regulations on reservoir and dam safety, while ensuring the efficiency of water sources, meeting the objectives of power generation, flood control and downstream safety.
Reporting at the inspection meeting, Mr. Ngo Son Hai – Vice President of EVN said: Son La, Hoa Binh, Huoi Quang - Ban Chat hydropower companies have installed warning systems in downstream areas, camera systems to monitor water discharge, etc. and regularly have had dam and reservoir inspections conducted. The inspection results show that these dams and reservoirs are working stably and safely in accordance with their design requirements and the current regulations.
EVN and hydropower companies have always seriously observed the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure on the Red River basin (Decision No. 740/QD-TTg dated 17 June 2019 of the Prime Minister) and the Reservoir Operation Procedure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
