Early preparation
Mr. Do Van Thien – Deputy Director of Nam Dinh Power Company said that since early this year, the Company has focused its manpower and physical resources on executing 20 overload protection projects, in which 50 new distribution substations have been established in order to ensure that the demand for power consumption of the people for residential uses and for the local socio – economic development will be adequately satisfied during this summer.
In particular, EVNNPC has implemented overhaul, regular maintenance projects, closely monitoring the loading status of distribution transformer in order to timely rotate transformers for meeting the load growth rate, accelerating overload protection projects; strengthening and reinforcing the power grid; sufficiently preparing human and physical resources for quickly responding to emergency situations when failures occur, etc.
Proactiveness and preparedness
Mr. Ho Manh Tuan – Vice General Director of EVNNPC stated that the safe and stable power supply to the people in the hot and sunny season is always a big challenge to a power distribution company.
As for EVNNPC alone, it is forecasted that the peak load of 2017 will reach between 9000 MW and 9500 MW (increasing by between 250 MW – 750 MW over the year 2016). In order to secure safe and uninterrupted power supply in the hot and sunny season, right since the end of 2016, EVNNPC has proactively established plans and requested their subsidiaries to execute these plans properly.
Accordingly, EVNNPC has early approved a list of investment – construction projects, overload protection projects to delegate to their subsidiaries for implementation; at the same time, as for 220 kV transmission projects invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation, EVNNPC has timely established feeder lines from these substations in order to increase the load capacity of the power grid in the area.
In the management and operation activities, the subsidiaries have reviewed and examined their power grid status; detected and timely handled overloaded moments; established operation modes in the most safely way in difficult situations; arranged a permanent power fault handling task force over 24/24 hours at the power departments, power management teams to timely respond if any faults occur.
