In the frame of co-operation program between Vietnam and Japan on human sources training for nuclear power development in Vietnam, from 29the Sep., 2014 to 10th Oct., 2014 the training course on “Basic safety in nuclear power development” was performed and provided to employees of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) in Wankasa Wan Energy Research Center in Fukui province of Japan.

Participating in the training course are staffs from various departments in EVN relating to nuclear power development including: Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Project Management Board (EVNNPB), Safety Department, Personnel Department, Power Engineering Consulting JSC 1 also sent its staff to the training course together with staff from PECC2, PECC3 and human source training agencies under EVN (EPU, HEPC, CEPC).
Eleven lectures, 2 class discussions and 5 site visits (to 07 nuclear bases in Fukui), the training course had furnished to attendants basic knowledge on safety in nuclear power generation, methods need to be done to ensure safety in nuclear power generation, procedures in dealing with emergency cases in nuclear power generation, sharing with Japanese on lessons and learns from Fukushima nuclear disaster, experiences on controlling, operating nuclear powerhouse in usual and unusual case, etc. These will be useful knowledge in construction and operation of nuclear power plant safety and efficiently in Vietnam in future to come.
