Perspective of Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant Project
Talking to the reporter of the International Tendering Newspaper, an officer of the Power Project Management Board 2 - EVN Branch (the Procuring Entity) said that the above mentioned package is widely tendered in the country by the method of Single stage - Two Envelopes; The bid was originally scheduled to close on January 20, 2021 but was later extended to January 25, 2021. This is a large-scaled and complicated consultancy package, PECC1 has experience in performing similar work at Thai Binh Thermal Power Plant Project. The contractor selection period lasted for nearly 6 months because the bid evaluation process had to clarify many contents at a time when the Covid-19 pandemic lasted. Presently, Power Project Management Board 2 and PECC1 are negotiating and finalizing the contract, and expected to sign the contract at the end of July 2021.
It is known that the Package No. 15 (EPC-QTI) for Design, supply of goods and construction & installation of the Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant Project (total investment of VND 41,130 billion) has been signed for the contract since June 2021 but due to the affect of Covid-19 pandemic, the construction commencement of the project is expected to take place in August 2021 in Quang Binh province.
